Looks like the wiring in my MGB before I started to sort it out.
I disconnected most of it and then left it for a few years without making any notes, which was not a good idea.

Right, I got a bit stuck in today so some progress. I've been on this thing for nearly 2 1/2 years now and it needs to be finished and up the road.
I stopped posting on that other wretched site a while ago, so to pick things up again-

The exhaust is made from any bits of stainless off cuts I could find. There are two silencers for added refinement- first is home made because who's going to see the blobby mess? Sadly I ran out of tube 2 inches from the end so you can see the scabby joint, but what the fuck.

Wires have been knitted together and the lights go on. The only light units I could find (they're 6 1/2 inchers) are Indian made at 5 for 30quid. I've no idea why they sell them in 5's either, but if anyone knows of a sealed beam in this size (untarnished naturellement) I'd be pleased to hear from them.

The wiper arrangements are cobbled together using a Corsa motor to replace the original engine driven system. That's right, the louder you went the faster it wiped, but the current engine lacked the necessary camshaft drive, so now I'll have to slum it with just 2 speeds.

Finally, I've weakened and fitted a heater which is subtly plumbed in so as you'd hardly notice it. These things never had provision for such luxury and lack demister vents, but I'm sure something can be arranged with the foot and a bit of hose off the good lady wife's Hoover.

Good to be here. I've just put a gallon in the tank and will hopefully be starting the engine today for the first time in situ.
The air filter no longer fits as previous to my ownership the engine had fallen on this delicate instrument and I feel any attempt to unsquash it will break it. Still works though. The final obstacle is the diff- it's a short lived design (in this country at least) which has a bearing each side of the pinion. It's not been easy to find one of a less dismal ratio than originally fitted to the van. After 2 years of searching I located a bloke in Malta who will exchange one for a car engine I have that he wants. This is good news if it works out as he's paying both lots of carriage.
