Good progress there by the look of it. Never heard of heated seats in a Dolly before, well interesting! Think you definitely did the right thing bunging a few quid into it at once. Spare change restoration takes bloody ages - even if you can weld.
There's a great long bar in Rock & Roll heaven.......

My Volvo 240 had a heated driver's seat that was supposed to just work on a little thermostat. It never worked.
I made a little electronic box of tricks and a switch to switch it on for a few minutes them automatically go off - or you could switch off. That worked OK but it took a lot of time :)
I wonder if the Dolly seats ever had a switch? That would be made of unobtainium eh?

Thats exactly what I thought it was originally. But the guy doesn't think so. They've got a whole load of stuff on top of them, but I'll measure the resistance sat on and off at some point.
I owned this actual car about 15 years ago (when it was very tidy) and had about 105000 miles on the clock. The only mods when I had it were gas adjustable spax all round and a rimmer bros stainless exhaust. The seats were a bit of a rarity in this one because they came from a Swiss registered Donor car and were actually heated (didn't get a chance to wire them up though).
Nice to see someone with skills taking on this project though 👍
Then after I responded:
i will definitely follow your rebuild. I knew the guy i bought it off well. He bought it in the 90's as a rebuild project for a college course, then sold it to his dad and bought it back again a few years later (somewhat contributes to the many former keepers). Had a complete new engine, diff, clutch and gearbox in the late 90s somewhere around 100000 miles iirc. I owned it for about 2 years circa 2004. I replaced the fuel tank with a new one and sold it to someone in Torquay as I was unable to keep it garaged.
Hope the rebuild goes well and i look forward to seeing the end result 👍

The guy in Torquay I believe was the chap who did the last "restoration".

A little research (I was pissed off with rain stopping other activities....) online this afternoon indicates that the seat belt warning wiring was on passenger side only and the driver's side circuitry ended at the floor stalk.

Are the seats a matching pair or is it likely only one of them came out of a LHD model? Interesting.....
