Red diesel is easy and cheap for me to get though. I don't know where I could fill my Jerry can up with Kero locally and as cheap.

Exactly. Paint is 95% prep. You can use a small compressor with 100 Psi reserve and a cheap gun. Use Cellulose, put plenty on with enough time between coats and you can block it back and even redo bits if required.

I'm not very good with liquids, especially paint. Usually end up with far too much on and dripping off.

Maybe in the summer I'll try small areas first.

I believe modern spray can aerosols give a pretty decent spray pattern from their nozzles too.

I think it's got 2k on it already. It's certainly not Cellulose - my MGB is and you can tell the difference.

Next up is trying to recreate and fabricate a new curved bit. I'm also running low on welding gas and lockdown is happening again. Still got 40 bar (out of ~250) so don't really want to change it tomorrow. 😐

What sort of price is a spare bottle? Can you get disposable?

Those small disposable canisters won't last very long. My BOC bottle holds an equivalent of 90 disposable canisters.

Refill is £55 Inc vat if I go fetch it. BOC can deliver ... for £70 exc vat.

There is a local car part shop that's just become a SGS Gas dealers, so I might get one of them. Still more expensive than my BOC bottle but no rent on the bottles. I'll be moving to rent-free cylinders after this project, as I only intend to be doing small welding projects from now on.

I think that's been posted before 😉

Going by those figures, 0-60 is pretty swift but 60-71 appears to be pretty slow...

Would've thought by 60 you would be either pushing the upper edge of the rev range or having to put it up into 4th.
