Good luck with that....!
Fundamental component removal on any of my cars tends to be the end of that for a month or two.

I'm not doing any old car stuff tomorrow for the first time in 20 years - they have had plenty of exercise lately and I fancy going proper on the piss tonight. Happy New Year!

Saw this fellow a couple of weeks ago when out hunting for a brocante.

Just when I thought I was out they dragged me back in.

Well it's running and hopefully will make the 60 mile round trip tomorrow. It made it up the big hill out of Wellington this afternoon, but wasn't easy to test how well it is going. It seems the modern motors round here can't keep up with a 63 year old French heap. Just when I get it rolling nicely I get stuck behind some muppet crawling along.

Maybe you need to nail a golf under it?

It's frankly amazing how many moderns are much slower than a 3 ton van powered by a 75bhp pinto
- until I come to a long hill but a spirited run up gets you a fair way.

Well I made it out and back without breaking down. There are a couple of issues come to light though, first up the wiper motor really needs rebuiling as it is very slow and kept stopping. The is also a problem with the handling, on right hand bends it feels like the back end is trying to steer. I am thinking it's a shock absorber but will have a better look next week. Other than that it went pretty well and gets plenty of attention.

Realised this morning it has been 3 months since I last touched the Panhard, so today I got it out of the garage. The old heap soon fired up and is still running nicely. The shit yellow bulbs I bought off Amazon are pretty shit though, they have seen maybe 1 hours use and had started to blow as the glass has gone black and cloudy. I have a pair of really old proper French bulbs so popped those in to find that now all the side lights have stopped working. I expect it is only the switch but soon got fed up and put it back in the garage. It is alo leaking a fair bit of oil so I will pull the engine out in the next few weeks and sort the leaks and fit a new alloy cam gear as the Celeron ones are prone to breaking.
