You can buy new bodyshells for these so it might go to someone who wants a 'genuine' one built to their particular spec, just being bought for the I.D. effectively.

Yeah I knew they were for sale. What I didn't realise is that they're not as expensive as I thought:

I imagine they're not original pressings like the Heritage Shells. These are a chunk more expensive and not far off the price of a good example:

However given the original tooling is from BMC/BL and likely knackered well before the production run ended, it's not necessarily going to be any better quality!

Definitely want to add a Spridget to my collection at some point though. Would need to sell some stuff first admittedly.

I only drove a Midget a few times but found it very cramped.
At that time I was 5'11" and quite broad but my beer belly hadn't yet developed.
I've since traded height for depth.

I loved my Midget, but when I tried Squire's last year it was smaller than I remembered. Brilliant fun though, so easy to drive to their limits. Mine never pointed the direction I was going, flick it into bends & steer on the throttle with the wheel straight ahead before a dab of oppo to straighten it up again.

I have owned and driven a Frogeye and a later Midget.
I looked at one last year and am now too fat and crippled to get in and out easily. Biggest problem was my feet are now too big for the pedals (probably a poor footwear choice as I had boots on, probably used to wear trainers years ago).

I think you can still get a fibreglass front and rear end for a frogeye, so it would just need a couple of old filing cabinets and angle iron to reproduce the bits in between for a "period restoration"

Looks a sensible price for any genius with time and space.
As I suspected I was right about everything.

I keep coming back to this.

Realistic price for one of these and doesn't look like too much really needs doing. I guess the smoke is the valve seals hardening up from lack of use.

Lovely colour and Webasto. Bigger engine so better performance. Even if I kept up with one in the twists coming back from Gaydon last year...

It would mean selling both the MGB GT and the Dolomite Sprint. Except the Dolomite still has a lot of work to be done and if I did that I could extract more money out of selling that. Can't really just get it now as have another round of hospital costs to come out and also missus has handed in her notice, so I am the bread winner and we need to be a little bit more careful...

TL;DR probably could but really shouldn't. Would be the best and only replacement for my MGB GT though.
