MX-5 donk, small, lowish powered & already RWD. Probably one of the easiest ways to drop a modern engine in & ruin a classic.

I would give it a decent paint job and fit some carpets as well as getting it mechanically sound but leave it at that.

It's too nice a car have looking like shit, but to fully restore it would be a crime.

If it was totally sound, is the car it porports to be and mechanically spot on but just lacking the aforementioned paint job I would happily pay that for it. Sooner that than a two-packed RHD conversion full of modern "improvements". 12K IS a lot of money and much more than I could ever justify on a car but there are far worse ways to spunk that much on four wheels.
