This looks like a good regular user with a nice interior. About 20 years ago there were a couple of local eccentrics who ran lateish P4's as daily drivers and I would love this as a homage to them.

I scored very low on the autie test. I’m cheerful, happy, confident, like meeting new people, chatty and largely sociable. What the fuck am I doing on this forum?

About 30 years ago I ran a P4 (well two, one after an other) as daily drivers. 🙌

Can we have a group buy just so we can burn it?

No need to do that. Just take the plate off and put it on retention would be enough. I'm sure an events organiser would quite like that plate.

Plus the fumes from burning would be pretty toxic out of it.

Plate rape for a start then cut the roof off to make it into some ironic homage to an AC Cobra. Thrash it mecrilessly until it dies then run it over with a D8 before burning the SAD remains. Filming it all in HD for a you tube channel. Where do I sign !. There again you could buy a real car for a grand and I can't quite see the film profits getting close to that with an audience of one sad young lad quietly exploding in his bedroom whilst watching it's destruction. Maybe I will do the lottery tonight it's 45mill that should leave a bit over to round up every last one of these spaz chariots and burn the fucking lot.

It's considerable charm* is not helped by '57 Thunderbird-esque portholes combined with wheel trims off a dealer-special Yugo, either. Looks like he's a Golf-licker so that probably explains it.

My own invidual hatred of these comes from having to check the front tyre pressures at the local Shell garage where I worked. Must have had about eight of the bloody things a week come in - invariably parked over one of the myriad forecourt puddles and the unfortunate operators of course never fucking got out so I lived in fear of being run over by the bloody things.

Back in 1988 when I was a rep for a telecoms company the firm offered these as their default company car until a couple of months before I joined. Despite the "perk" of E985AVX, my plastic wheel trimmed XR3i, I was bitterly jealous seeing the other lads turn up to our monthly sales meeting in Coppull, Lancs in their 2.8i Specials. Strangely enough, a few of them were jealous of me because our firm sold two different manufacturers' equipment, NEC and Panasonic, and only Panasonic would pay our petrol bills and the Capri was heavier on fuel.

About the same time, I worked for a division of Unilever.....We had company cars with pretty much free choice. Except, for some reason, the Admin Manager wanted to squander his company car entitlement on a Manta GTE and they wouldn't let him - something to do with forecast residuals as the car had actually just gone out of production. He got one in the end, though, after a hissy fit - and promptly put it through a drystone wall in Yorkshire.
