My favourite Lotus in the colour that suits it the best. I fucking love this car. I have always prefered the underdog to the more valuable version, this must be why I've always wanted a Mk2 Lotus Cortina but have always been a bit indifferent to the megabucks Mk1.

£22,000 is a lot of money but if I had the cash I most certainly would.

Lovely car, with the Sprint engine as well.
I looked at a blue 5 speed one when looking for my MGB, they were about the same price, but decided that I wanted a convertible. I may have made the wrong choice but given an accident that I had the Lotus would probably have been written off, possibly me as well.

I agree on both counts - so it's a good job neither of us has the dosh or we'd be outbidding each other.

What is the purpose of all that schtick?
If you know your stuff you don't want or need to hear it, if youre one of the great unwashed no point. I guess the seller goes on like that in every day life.
'Ever since the young men have owned motorcycles, incest has been dying out, and so has sodomy'.

'Much of the social history of the Western world over the past three decades has involved replacing what worked with what sounded good."

I'm sure he feels it justifies another grand on top of what he has already added to what he paid at auction. Just another dabbler adding nothing of value to the cars other than what it takes to shift them on Ebay.
