The thread is stripped on this mirror. Can you get helicoils small enough? Would I need a bush to get it to mirror size again?

M8 x 1.25 I think.

Looking forward to going to the Monet-Goyon museum in Melle, France in September, as the Director helped me enormously with establishing the bikes date of manafacture.

Does anyone know anything about this make of carb? A mate has bought this CB 750 that's been messed with and is stressing about it, reckons its running too warm? I got him to check a couple of plugs, maybe a bit rich rather than lean apparently.

It's too low geared too according to him. It's got a 15 tooth sprocket front and a 41 rear iirc. The bike builders have fitted some massive 630 chain or something like that. I've suggested going back to a standard size to make finding sprocket and chain sets cheaper and easier to find.

I did wonder if the headers were warming the oil and creating a doom loop heat wise as 2 pipes run very close to the oil filter housing?

Old Hondas di run 630 chains but it's easy to change to more modern stuff. Those carbs are (I think) Keihin Smoothbores and worth quite a bit, getting and needles lift/drop will have it running sweet as though they did always feel like they were running hot but it ever seemed to bother them.

Cheers for that, it's way out of my knowledge zone. He's mentioned that the carbs are worth good money so was thinking of putting something more standard on and flogging them. He's had Jap bikes in the past but is more used to Nortons and stuff back in the day so this thing feels highly stressed by all accounts due to the gearing, he's not used to the revs. Hopefully he'll be reassured that they feel like they run hot.

I've seen a rolling road video of this thing when it was being setup and it sounded great to me but he's a proper Captain Slow!

Definitely, the wrong bike then as even as standard they are a bit manic and the valve-gear rustles away even when set up right (easy) and they do like to rev! A good K5 or 6 is a nice engine but they tire easily!

Typical This bike has got an interesting enough back story as it is. He's only just got the logbook after loads of hassle with DVLC, it's taken months to sort out and he thought he was going to lose it!
