I would buy the Acclaim when it's number is up. Need some bits for mine and I don't like buying little bits and bobs, prefer to have a complete donor to pick at!

Today I had a couple of child free hours so decided to fix the exhaust on the heirloom 306. Simple fix, just needed to replace a foot long section. Then my regulator decided it no longer wanted to regulate. Popped the pipes off with too much pressure. Couldn't see how to sort this so as I was pushed for time and just wanted it back together so I just welded it gasless! Can always redo the welds at a later date but at least it's a bit quieter. Be interesting to see how long it lasts like that though! Not the prettiest welds though!

Time to weigh one or both of those in then. Scrap cars are of little use to anyone. A breaking ad of Ebay and FB might liberate some cash.
May I remind you...

That Acclaim is scrap. It's rusted out, finished, job done. It will never be a decent (or safe) car again short of spending thousands on a serious reconstruction and it will never be valuable, ever. I dread to think what would happen to it if you were rear ended in traffic - it would fold up like a Kitkat wrapper.

It's absolutely fucked. Surely you can see this? Don't waste your time!
He then spent a couple of days welding it up. I mean it's still fucked but its currently legally fucked.
The Hondacclaim is a runner though. A car that is reliable, runs and drives is different to one that's rotten AND mechanically fucked.

I'm sure you could use some bits from it?

I'd not be able to do that. I would end up welding it up and replacing the engine instead.

Did an exhaust repair for my mate on his Honda Accord. Whilst he was on hard times, after his father died, he was using the deceased's Kia Magentis diesel for economy, whilst the petrol Accord languished on his grandad's drive, awaiting better times.
Well, the Kia failed its MoT Test in spectacular fashion, and he hated the wretched thing anyway. Time to get the Honda back on the road. Unfortunately, light fingered thieves had stolen the catalytic converter whilst it was on his grandad's drive. He asked the local garage to sort it and get it through its test. However, with another cat. bodged into place, there was a blow at one of the joints. That's where I come in. A little paste, some pre-corroded steel shimstock and a Jubilee clip later he was happy again. No guarantees as how long this 'repair' will last though.

And the chap came to pay me and take away the M.G. De-cluttering making space really does have a positive effect on you.

Got in the mx5 to go to work, thought...the steering feels a bit heavy...reversed 2 foot. There's the power steering belt fully intact, just lying on the ground.

Couldn't be arsed trying to shove it back on, at half seven in the morning when i was already late...so i took the yaris to work.

Whatever I do, the T5 won't do more than 23mpg.

It seems to be normal from some research, but might not be, who knows. A few people I've discussed it with think not. Can Mr. Black possibly advise? (The blower motor is good by the way, it's slightly noisy which I bet is why you replaced it. I don't mind that at all as the radio drowns it out. Thanks for it!)

I can't see much it comes down to as driving style makes no odds, PCV is clear, ignition was overhauled a few months ago, there's little I've not given it except a cambelt...

That's about normal for a t-5. You need to sell it to me immediately if you're not happy.
