What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

The only suitable engine transplant for that would have been a period correct Perkins fitted whilst it was being used to get the beaters around the estate.

Currently trying to sort out undercover storage for it, I could stick it down with my brother but then I wouldn't use it. You can see I really thought this through, my sensible head is telling me I should have bought a Morris Minor Traveller. My stupid head is still telling me I did the right thing. I shall probably ruin it by using it and taking the dogs in it, but I promise not to intentionally drive it on two wheels or try to cross the channel with it. I nearly bought a Riley shooting brake years ago, I pulled out of the purchase because the seller had neglected to mention one side was rotten, to the point of being mostly missing
Taking the dogs out in it is exactly what it's for!
Especially with a Golf Synchro drivetrain fitted.

It just stalled at the roundabout and won't start turns over and sounds fine. It was running really well before so no idea hopefully a code read will give us a clue

No deodorant in the cab to see if it will fire and run long enough to get to somewhere safe?

That's not helpful!

I'm sure this won't be it as it's not old enough but I once had the stop solenoid wire burn through on a LR so it just stopped.

Well what a fun day !! Hour and a half wait for the breakdown guy who code read it and couldn't find a fault. In the end he got the easy start aout and it fired up. I then didn't switch it off again until I got home just now. I think it must be the high pressure pump as everything else has been replaced on it now. At least I got it home in the end and got shot of the Lancia.
