Can't imagine Chadders has too many sensors on his T2....Air leak somewhere?xtriple wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2020 11:28 am I had a series three 4.2 XJ many years ago that used to do the belching smoke and running like a pig when cold. I once got serious abuse from a cyclist as HE PASSED me! I went to the local scrappies and knicked all the various sensors I could find from one in the yard and replaced everything, one of them did the trick
It was most embarrassing until I fixed it.

Today Mathew, I have been a carbon fibre, God! They are not in order but the manky ones are, before!

To be honest, it's hardly noticeable which is great. Subtle but cool I should have polished the car as it's dirty but I did clean the pillars with contact cleaner beforehand. Seemed to do the trick and they are well stuck!

Re: What did you do today?
I'm no big fan of carbon fibre appearance but that is loads better - I know how shonky those bits get on them....
In other news I have been having a bit of Chadders' luck....Took the Cowley out over the Forest to go shopping (OK I skipped two supermarkets but Boris said....) and it was running really badly. Came home twice to tweak things to no avail. Basically, I have recently changed the carb float and needle, the rotor arm and plug leads over the past couple of weeks so I assumed I had fucked something up/bought some Chinese shit. Remade all the coil connections - I have had the dizzy out to do a heater valve as well - reassembled the float, checked the clearance (again) and swopped back to the previous float jet.
Still bag of shit.....
Eventually after a 20 mile fast run it settled down and is now back to Good Cowley, purring on idle, responding instantly to throttle and driving like it should. Fuel was pretty fresh - I brimmed it just before lockdown after my MOT and both inline filters are clean. I can only put it down to shuffling it about in the road outside and not driving it properly for the last 5 or 6 weeks. I hope.

Sounds just like my camper.
They really don't seem to like being shuffled around by the look of it.
