What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

It's fair to say that every complaint levelled at 1950s/60s Vauxhall/Ford build quality can be equally applied to the parent company's Detroit offerings (that is not to say that Rootesmobiles or BMC fodder was any better of course). Production methods and construction techniques were much the same.
Pillarless construction won't have helped that Galaxie any, either. Also, they're all 60 years old now FFS - that's like driving a Curved-Dash Oldsmobile down Carnaby Street for a Mary Quant opening!

This bastard audi did a vag yesterday and shit itself. I was on the piss in Jesmond when my partner rang to say it wouldn't start. I put my booster pack along with my inflator etc in the car yesterday morning in preparation for the trip down South today.

She rang me and told me it wouldn't start when she was shopping at the Silverlink. She flattened the booster and hafords didn't have a battery in stock so she got a taxi home.

I'll have to go with the van this morning and see what's what. It was the coldest day of the year yesterday and it's freezing this morning.

Fucking thing.

I've no idea. I didn't know where the battery was. She had to google it.
I'm going to buy some jump leads. I have the battery from my saab diesel in the lock up. I'm going to pick that up. I fully charged it before I put it in there. Will is still be okay?

How long ago was that?

Battery chemistry Rechargeable Typical self-discharge or shelf life

Lead–acid Yes 4–6% per month[3

Self-discharge is a phenomenon in batteries in which internal chemical reactions reduce the stored charge of the battery without any connection between the electrodes or any external circuit.
