What's the story with the broken swivel head ratchet combination spanner?
The pin fell out when I was changing the punto exhaust and hasn't revealed itself amongst the gravel yet. US Pro tools = not the best.

Popped the the tre off with the biggest from the set of splitter tools. Came off with some bang.

I'll still put the odd milestone in brief on here. More detailed updates on the usual (better) place, where there is (unexpectedly) now less enforcement on what you can do with your own content than on here..
I think you missed something on here Si. That was revoked weeks ago. On a thread you were involved in too.
I did see it, just I cba half the time and rather walk off.

But on this...

On AS I can delete all my threads in a matter of seconds if I wish to disappear off. Like some now on here have done on AS.

On here, nope. It's not as easy due to those limits above. Even then, by trying, Hooli swoops in to stop it - as shown by nebuchenezer attempting to.
Thin vail of freedom that actually is more restrictive and only just on his terms.

Anyway my main posts are all on freely visible parts of AS for those that are interested.
Ta for putting your thought process down.

As said before, it was done to match the views expressed by the majority of members when this place was setup. Others remember it too so I'm not making it up.

I'm not going to comment further on it though as it's a pointless derailment of this thread.

I got hold of this a while back as the charger was missing but looks like the batteries have bit the dust. It was TOO PINK for my liking and destined for my nephew so I've toned it down a bit* with a bit of Blacksmith black.
I've got two batteries out of an old emergency light that hold some charge. They are too big to fit the scooter and no idea if they will supply the amps needed but worth a try?

Got to be worth a try, power tool batteries would be a go to as well

Currently making some battery packs up for Airsoft from some spare drill packs.

I had one of those posh ball joint splitters for years and a truly excellent bit of kit it was. Came to a sad end when one (after a few thousand previous uses) ball joint was SERIOUSLY tight and it snapped the splitter before the ball joint sprang apart. I was deeply distressed by its sad demise, I buried it in the garden with two lolly sticks taped together to make a cross and read a poem over its remains.

I took an angle grinder to the ball joint out of sheer spite.

In news (and it's earth shattering) I washed BOTH cars! Conclusions are: silver cars look clean when they are dirty and dark blue cars look filthy when they are (relatively) clean!

I thought I'd broken something when the joint finally let go.

I needed the TRE off as the locking nut was corroded onto the inner tie rod.

Had to go in team handed with two mole grips and a 13mm spanner, lots of heat and an impact socket before getting it free.

Put new pads on and a drop link. It had been wrecking tyres on the inside edge so I have toed it in a couple of degrees.

After sorting out the X trail, I moved on to the Davie Broon. The hydraulics were very slow and jittery. The gearbox and hydraulic system share the same oil and I knew it and the filter were needing to be changed.

Sure enough, it was the colour of Bailey's. The gearstick gaiters have been letting water in.

The filter is in that round housing on the bottom of the gearbox and lots of mess was made.

22 litres and a new filter later and the hydraulics were now doing fuck all. A quick google and worked out where the bleed screw was, but undid it too much and had a fountain of oil to deal with. Must have lost a fiver's worth on the back axle and ground.

Did the trick though and the hydraulics are working great again.

Put my heating oil tank in position and cut an acre of grass with the 6' topper to celebrate.

The caliper is fine. Piston and pins sliding nicely etc, but the disc is a bit shagged. I attacked the inner face with a copper hammer and flap disc as there was only about 20mm clean and the rest was badly corroded.

New ones needed.
