What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

I forgot most of you cunts aren't on the beige forum anymore; the 120Y I purchased off Sam Glover.
I haven't bothered posting much about it or my other cars as they aren't Spakworthy enough :D

As a cunt not on the beige forum (which I might wear as a T shirt) and a closet Jap licker (do not fucking google that) I would be very welcoming of such an update.

In my own mediocre fleet news I have had one of those 5-cars-down-to-one months. One of the downed is the Minor 1000 which has been so rewarding* to own lately. Bought new tyres, wiper packed up. Bought new wiper motor, lights packed up. I have been waiting for a day off where I didn't have a virus of some kind to get on it again. Picked it up from the barn, went shopping, came home and just laid out all my wiring First Aid stuff on the bench and now it is pissing down with rain. Fuck it, am having tomorrow off too - must fix this as the Cowley wipers are not behaving now either - flailing about like a limp-wristed Ninja. Mercedes is still waiting some arcane fuel injection part from a Sindelfingen elf, Volkswagen is having an ill-timed welding session and pretty soon I will be walking to work......

I remember these were very popular with the guys at work when they first came out, I think that they were swayed, in part, by the standard equipment. What was not so good were the rust holes in the front wings after about 18 months.
A nice car though.

Yep. Datsuns came with decent heaters & FM radios as standard when European cars at the time barely even got carpets.

Not only that. When you went and ordered one it arrived the following week - in the colour that you ordered, usually with free mats and a duster. Not like Rover who kept you dangling for three months, tried to flog you three different cars that were not the right hue and then billed you another £24 and eleven pence for number plates and "delivery".

Chances are you never had to bother the dealer again apart from the in-warranty services, either.

She ain't too shabby for a Datsun of any variety and drives very well now; 50 feels fast, what the quoted max of 88mph is like I dread to think... lovely sweet gear change like old rwd Fiats used to have and a very smooth engine :D

I've given the inside a bloody good cleaning today, all now very clean and tidy apart from the carpet in the drivers footwell which is beyond fucked, Sam must have been wearing his stilettos a fair bit.
There's lots of wee jobs that require attention such as the rear arches which are a little frilly and the rear of the sills which are both sound but the repair is a bit agricultural for my liking. I shall drive and enjoy for now though as lots of work on plus I aim to have my Saab 96 at least starting if not driving by Christmas.
