Yeah, that would fetch more than a thousand pounds. Shame to see it get plastered in black bonnet and dub shit though. Be hanging on to that, I would, just for its usefulness.

No, Dubbers can fuck right off....Only reason I tolerate mine is that I wanted one as a kid (albeit a split-screen model) and it is nice to have the engine in the back with all the racket instead of growling away between the front seats like the CF I had before it. Plain Jane T4s like yours are not common these days......

Chuck the contents of a scrap caravan in that T4 bodge some windows in and it's a 10k camper all day long. Don't worry about the lack of servicing as the fan boy's won't care they will be falling over themselves to give you money.

Considering it's done nearly 200,000 miles the condition is excellent and could easily pass for a 50,000 mile more recent example.

Not up close , it's very tatty and scabby and they do hide their rust under the thick VW underseal .. It's been great to have it back on the road today though .. I've missed it ! It feels just like the day i bought it !

Got my Hilux Surf back from the body shop.
All the previous owners dents have been removed, as well as the one I put in the tailgate.
It's as good a Hilux Surf as I'd like now, it's not absolutely perfect, but it's definitely as good as I want it.

Re: What did you do today?
Had a father-son tool handover today. Not all of them, mostly stuff that he will almost certainly ever touch again.
A few highlights.
Some punches
Rpm gauge. Not sure I'd want to put my hand close enough to a crank pulley to use it.
Air flow gauge
Dwell, rpm, etc gauge
Apparently this was a lot of money back in the day. It's a rather large old meter.
