What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

1960 TD21. The best looking, in my opinion.

Yes, that's the one. Still popping and spluttering even when up to temperature so it's going to need some fine tuning but its potential could be felt. A really lovely sound too.

I've always admired them. I used to work with a bloke who had one and kept asking this bird to come out for a Sunday ride. She only knew him by his HA van and kicked herself for fobbing him off once she clocked the Alvis drophead....

Not been feeling too chipper since new years day so this was the first day out for a few. Took the car out and caned the arse off it while keeping it locked in 3rd gear! That got the bugger warmed up! No repetition of the MIL so far... We shall see.

Felt really lousy though so hanging around with Phoebe was a real chore and every time I tried to walk anywhere with Chester she was squeaking her tits off, drives me crazy! Hard to deal with when telling healthy, near impossible when 'under the weather'. Then I got out of the car and as I was so going, dropped my stick which clattered on the side of the car... which annoyed me, got home and a bag split, which annoyed me... in fact, everything annoyed me today.

Expect a similar lack of sunny disposition tomorrow!

Another sub-zero degrees polo fettling session.

Managed to get the replacement rear door glass partially fitted. I say partially as I've lost the wee plastic dowel that connects it to the regulator. It'll do the noo.

I couldn't get a decent handbrake despite a couple of hours of fucking about, so fitted new shoes and cables which has sorted it.

Back in for a retest tomorrow.

Cleaned my workbench, tidied up and then polished my rod.

I would take a picture but I took it sideways and the forum now says error

I haven't used the van for a while. Did invoicing, gave it a good clean out and went for van stock.
The gearbox diff is very noisy. It now has the added bonus of a rattling dual mass flywheel. It really needs attention.
Happy 2021 to me.
