No fire. I like this car too much. It's been through too much and cost me a fair amount. Looking like a stonechip* may end up cracking screen

What are you cleaning it with? I've always previously cleaned my windscreen with autoglym glass cleaner or regular house hold cleaner. Then bought some reasonably expensive stuff. Does a fantastic job but a lot of work. I think the better stuff have a mild abrasive in it.

Also have the wiper arm springs gone a bit limp?

That stuff inside and out is great. Like a new windscreen.

Today I went and fetched some more. still fucking smearing. Jack through windscreen and a windscreen insurance claim is next unless someones got a good fix idea.
Presume you mean there is a crack in the windscreen :)
I never seem to get a pair of wipers that don't smear, those on my van were shit from the get go- Halfrauds but I was fucked if I was gonna pay near on £40 for a Bosch pair. Perhaps I need to try rubbing a jack over the screen.

Or maybe Jacking off over the screen- the muck stings like beJesus when it comes out so maybe its kinda acidic.
