What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

The ravenscroft driver was superb. Didn't bother trying to fiddle with it, just scooped it straight up.

Lots of smoke though, smells oily so it might be an easy fix but doubt it. Big shout out to autoaid. Called them at 4pm in new forest area and I'm 35 miles away from home in Coventry already
Yep sounds like PCV - an easy fix. Had it on a volvo once - I really thought it was fucked, but it was soon fine.

From what I can gather they don't have a pcv filter as such but this breather is an issue. Spectacular smoke though, I can only assume as it's not been run much lately it's sucked a bit of crap up the hole. Seller reckons he'll refund me half the asking price. He seemed really genuine, car ticked over for ages whilst we did paperwork.

I'm wondering that too. It was from Texaco so not a back street place. I've rammed a drill bit down the breather and it was definitely blocked. It's still smoking though but not sure if as much as it's dark and cold.

If you don't have it, I've got the workshop manual as a PDF somewhere. I'll dig out a copy if you want it.

Provided you start it, it's own thread of course.

Speaking of Texaco, I've just redeemed my 3,000 points for a £30 fuel voucher. Ker-ching. I'm convinced Texaco have the best loyalty system, and it helps that my local filling station sells the brand.
