Aren't they just line it up on the splines then shove like everything else?

Re: Stupid questions about motorised conveyances
Can I pick the collective knowledge here please?
My father has been told he needs a new blower motor for his RHD 2000 4.7 Jeep Grand Cherokee, he's been given a part number by the person doing the work (not sure where it came from) of 4864956 - except there is nothing available in this country.
Checking Rock Auto and they list one at £233 + everything on top to get it here, shows as fitting grand Cherokee from 97-01.
Looking at the parts breakdown on rock auto and that number doesn't come up at all and they are about £30... I'm assuming this is for the LHD model though?
What's the chances of a heater motor being only suitable for a RHD?
He's also been told the resistor box and connectors have melted which is an easy fix of about £14...TBH if it was mine I would just order a new box and chunk of loom and see how hot it gets whilst trying simultaneously to get some lubrication into the blower bearings but I'm not the one doing the work on it....
Can anybody do some Rainman type cross referencing and work out if that part number for the motor is what it actually needs? Vehicle reg is X158 KNP
Thanks everybody

It should screw straight back on but be careful that the column hasn't sunk down and the two pins in the collapsable bit haven't fallen out.

I'm not the one doing the work on it....
Yes, the RHD motor is umpteen times more expensive.
It would appear that the blower box is a mirror image between LHD and RHD cars, hence the motor spinning the opposite direction and the hamster wheel vanes being reversed too.

So unless you want to get involved and start fannying around with the motor bearings, etc. then there's not a lot you can do.

I think that Eddie says that it spins in the opposite direction.
