I think I've mentioned it before, I've got a valve powered radiogram as my main stereo. The sound is lovely & there is something comforting about how the sound gradually comes in as it warms up.

I have a mid-fifties Pye Black Box Hi-Fi record player running valves and a slightly later Regentone. Apart from being box-like there is nothing black or particularly Hi-Fi about the Pye but it does have a bloody good sound, particularly at higher volume, lower bass levels which is where I like me rock and roll to be!
There's a great long bar in Rock & Roll heaven.......

Because tube amps clip out much more softly, it's akin to running an engine hard. Post Office says the component parts are still sitting in New Orleans this morning. Was hoping they'd have moved by now because if they don't go soon, I won't get them until at least Tuesday, Monday is a holiday.

Hope you got the right size smoke to fit in the wires, I know it breaks if the smoke leaks out.

Yes, I have the correct SAE smoke. It's getting more difficult to locate but there's still places that sell it.
Metric smoke doesn't work.
