Hello, shiny new Delcos!

I have to say that's completely transformed the car. So much so I can now feel the rear ones are a bit soft too. I'll order some new ones.

Turns out the car really doesn't like that fuel much; on the plus side the radio fixed itself. So that's good.

High Ethanol content in the fuel? I thought with the low compression ratio it would tolerate it ok

E10, it runs on it well enough but it's lumpy pulling away and doesn't like to idle hot, smells rich.

Driving the car everywhere lately. Went take care of the yard at the mother in law's lot.

The drive home was nice. Warm breeze, window down, radio on, engine humming away, gathering dead bugs on the windshield.

See, that is what's nice about old motors....Even a humdrum task is happily completed with the drive each way. I always use the Cowley if I have to do anything for one of the kids or run an otherwise dull errand.

I've come to the conclusion that the timing marks on the pulley have very little bearing to any specific engine rotation position.

Setting the ignition up is merely a game of tweak it until it runs right. Heck to the actual marks.

I know that's the case with older bikes these days due to the petrol being so different to what was sold when they were new. Probably the same reason?
