I do hope you know I was joking? If you're throwing them away (as they are utter rubbish - must be, the master craftsman that is me says so) throw them my way :)

Cleaned up the garage. Doesn't look like much but it's 33C in there today.

After reading in another place... ;)

How accurate do you want the ammeter to be?

1. Do you want an ammeter FSD capable of the alternators output ,
or
2. Do you want a bypass Cct that takes over at the ammeters indicated max to accommodate the alternators max output?

Accuracy here is not important.

Number one or number two. Not burning the ammeter up with an over-current situation is the primary worry. Pegging the maximum limit of the ammeter below the max of the alternator is not really an issue- if it goes to the stop then it is charging like mad and that is fairly straightforward to see.
Losing the small scale deflection at low discharge current is a concern, but I do have Idiot Light now which is an attention-grabber.
Given that, probably #2

Spent last night on my back upside down under the dash working out what I need to do to finish this lot off.

I need to get the heater back in (waiting on valve) and run the new heavy gauge wiring for the battery permanent primary to the fusebox, and the alternator primary.

I found the screws and nuts for the valve and attached it to the heater body, and made up some new gaskets.

Cleaned up the metal downpipe from the window heater to the floor heater.

Ran out of black so painted it the color of the car.

Need to get some new 5/8" heater hose to join everything up, a length of metal pipe for the lower return to the radiator and we'll be set for plumbing. I need to get some new hose for the screen vent ducts.
