Cheers but they turned up today. An obscene amount of packaging but cardboard and brown paper. They measure the right length at 420mm centres so fingers crossed they do the job. I could do with them as after trusting the lid to stay up it properly hit me in the back after about 20 secs the other day

I've had a reply.

Hi! I am sorry for this situation, I contacted our warehouse about this. They responded that Facet, Fae, EPS, KW are the same manufacturer selling their parts under different brands. They didn't have the Facet one so dispatched a FAE one, while there is the same high quality sensor inside, just a different box. I am really sorry that they did not informed You about this before and I hope this won't be a big issue from Your side? Please let me know and have a nice weekend! Cheers!

I pointed out that FAE are Spanish and FACET are Italian and that I could have bought the one they sent for about half the cost, we'll have to see what I get back.

Enough packaging and a big enough box? The actual items feel like they are well made, we'll see how long they last. They've certainly got some strength, hope the mounts can take it or they calm down a bit. One on its own holds the boot up no problem.

I enquired about a bit of touch up paint from a shop on Ebay, not a million miles away in Brum as it happens. They can sort MOSU Vert Reflex apparently and even added a listing to their shop to make ordering easier. Lets hope it's a half decent match on old paint.

As for the little buggers in Lithuania they are offering a partial refund on the non FACET item. I've asked them if they actually have any in stock at all. If the one on this cars gone the one on the SRDT may go up the spout too so may order another one?

4 wheels procured that I wasn't really looking for, 2 with totally over the top rubber fitted. 195 50 15s which have always been my fave all rounders so OK with that.
I've heard mention that the 205 rally boys like the current wheels on the 405 as they are strong so hopefully I can claw some funds back selling them.
I'm also currently short of 16 wheel bolts of a particular type. Hopefully the originals will turn up.

Maybe looked better in white coated in brake dust? I'm thinking of Goodwood graphite?

Tunes now semi sorted, all I need now is some half decent speakers. Considering how knackered they are the sound is OK, definitely recommend for 3.95 posted off Ebay.

A bit of a milestone for me just too. I've never put a car over 80k before as all my cars have been well north of 100k or even 200k in the past.

Still need to investigate the sunroof, it's passing me off now.

Managed to prise the sunroof open and it's completely detached from the runners with one vital component missing

A slight problem with my ICE* install too. I lost all sound on the right hand side. It turns out the Autoreverse mech fucks with the stereo sound had to scratch my head for a bit wondering what was going on.

Back on the old Merc Estate today now it's a bit warmer and more is better. We checked the timing as it can alter on the cams on high HP applications apparently. It's never run the same since the radiator snagging incident. 30 seconds before hand it was absolutely hauling like never before so we want to start with the very basics and work from there.

Next up is the fuel pump location.

The saga continues... Not much longer and the leisure battery would have been making a bid for freedom and been found hanging in front of the front wheel. Still got to have a go at the bit where the drivers heel is supposed to go.

Looks like I'm not to.be trusted with a pair of sharp scissors either
