Must have been me he was talking about then. He offered it me for £500. I told him I would think about it then went round a few days later with £500 and told him I'll have it. He had changed his mind by by that point. He must have got enough pennies together for some more Special Brew by that point.

Missed this reply. Sure if it was you he'd have mentioned it :-) The wheels and tyres alone that he's got for it must be worth that?

In other news it looks like the LDV I saved a couple of years back is still doing it's level best to dissolve. Saying that he did do 12/15K in it it last year apparently so maybe it was worth the effort after all?

That’s a properly clean looking thing, I don’t remember them being that shiny when they were new.
Just when I thought I was out they dragged me back in.

A mutual friend of ours gave it a blow over and blasted the wheels and tyres too for 1K after I'd recreated some of the rear arches, done a load of chassis repairs etc on it.

Agreed. Mat has known Dom for donkeys ages tho and the van always stays up there when he's off living abroad, he always pays his rent on time and never quibs over any bills if anything gets done workwise to it for MOT work etc. I think Mat did a bit on the DA and made plenty of tea too. It wasn't a concourse job by any means, there's the odd run and not all dents were filled but it's fucking shiny!
He's ordered some more zintec and can apparently rent the big shed by the day so I won't have to weld it outside in the wind and rain.

The old bus is now even more of a patchwork quilt than it was before. Nothing too major tbh, a bit under tha battery, drivers footwell and the wheel inner arches on both sides. There's a bit more to do underneath too but I'll do that when the weather's a bit better and use the pit. Mat bought another sheet of zintec so those patches should be the only bits left in a few more years...
In other news the 405 passed another MOT yesterday. The tester commented on just how good it was for an old motor so pretty happy with that result

I've never liked those old J4s but that has still lasted better than a similar aged Transit.
