Re: LDV fettling, again...
I always seem to rip gloves within two minutes of putting them on so never really bother with them unless someone else is providing them. I thought that was what fairy liquid/ washing powder and sugar was for?

Re: LDV fettling, again...
That lot was hidden by shitty plasterboard when I bought the place, thankfully it was damaged, that's what I uncovered. Que loads and loads of de-nailing, fettling, replacing a few bits of board, staining to try and get the colours to somewhere near match and then multiple coats of Briwax, I love Briwax! I only had to attack one timber with an angle grinder to tidy it up as it was wragged to fuck, I didn't sand any of it so you can see every individual saw mark where some poor cunts had to put some proper graft in. Some of those boards are nearly a foot wide.
Each coat needs buffing after it's dried with some rough cotton, a proper mission with that lot by hand, hence the cheapest polisher I could find.
Still shiny tho

Rapid service buying Vactan direct off Ebay, now all I need to do is pull my finger out and apply some of it.

Next little job to do on a mates Mx 5. Two little bits of welding in front of the rear wheels.

Make sure you pour the vactan into something to dip the brush in so you don't contaminate the bottle, don't pour any unused stuff back in.

No sign of it being dragged there lately, it might have driven there? There's another similar thing parked under the trees. You get all sorts parked up the yard.BusmansHoliday wrote: ↑Wed Jun 22, 2022 8:24 pm Fuck the Mazda, get that AEC Mamouth Major sorted and running
As for the Mazda, it's fun, it's got LSD and not the local mushrooms.

Re: LDV fettling, again...
First issue with the Inastate, the indicators have all but packed up. The switch felt fine until it didn't, I pulled out of a junction and they didn't cancel, cancelled them myself and the stalk is jammed, bizarre. You can sort of get them to work by forcing it, I've tried some percussive maintenance but no joy. I've had a 405 with over 250K on it in the past and the switchgear was all fine so wasn't expecting it on an 80K car.
