270 miles in and the fucking ECU light is now on permanently, first time I've seen that since owning the car. It's made absolutely sweet FA difference to performance apart from the fact that the fuel consumption is now marginally increasing!!! This is despite being properly loaded up today on another run.

New cars are indeed BOLLOX.

I may have slightly* underestimated the last load before lockdown but it's certainly proven the issue is not mechanical

The car's just across the street from me so will take the fuse board out at some point and work on it at mine. Certainly looks like it won't be getting used much for a while...

Started the Volvo yesterday for first time in a week and a half as I don't trust the battery for any longer. Went first turn of the key and the ECU light stayed off. Gremlins grrrr.

I was getting low on stuff to keep me warm and a friend offered me some stuff for free so the Volvo was put to work again. The woods riddled with woodworm and a lot of it weighs next to nothing but beggars can't be choosers. It's dry as a chip tho so keeping warm won't be a problem for a bit 🙂

A bit of an update. The Volvo is still fucked but moves under its own steam still. The 405 is still just brilliant and my old mans Z is a proper hoot to drive in the sun.
The mate that owns the Justy I welded and CLINT painted has also just bought this

which I think personally is just fucking ace. It's looking rather sorry for itself now and needs a lot of work and it seems muggins has been lined up for the welding work. A plan is afoot to buy another back for it and maybe make one up out the two and the bearings for the front hubs are on order.
For anyone not familiar with it it's a Dangel 4x4 conversion in RHD so ultra rare in the UK. From what I can find it seems it may have been brought to the UK to weigh up interest in them at the dealers but they were never actually sold here as such?

It looks brilliant!
You're certainly not going to lose it in a car park.

The hub is still sat on my window sill, Justin never did collect it. Bearings are on order and should be at Mawley on Monday morning. It might need a new hub tbh, it's pretty chewed up. It was driven to destruction and that finally took it off the road. It's been cut into too but if it's cast steel I may be able to build it back up with the mig and get it lathed back into shape? Dunno if it's cast steel or iron so would have to do the later at the Mons.

There's got to be another hub out there somewhere!

As for the back, would it be easier to just make one from scratch? Doesn't have to look original, a flatbed like the Aussie Utes?
