True, I did a bit to a Vito a few years back and it was really frilly. This things saving grace is the tranny engine tbh, those old banana engines just keep on chugging but it's a properly agricultural experience, especially with this being a twin wheel on the rear, 50's where it's happy at.
It still seems to better than the Sherpa I used to drive years ago, what a hateful piece of poorly handling shit that was. The other van on the firm was a Toyota Hi-Ace with a 2.0 petrol in it and column gear change, absolutely no contest which was the better van.

Not my car and not a scrapper just yet but my old man has treated himself to a sports car 20 years later intended because life got in the way. He didn't even know these existed but liked the look of them when I showed him a pic. It really sounds the part and has obviously been looked after, it's really not too bad for a 15 year old car. Saying that it's only done 4K a year.
Main thing to do sooner rather than later is get two small bits of the hood repaired and rejuvenate it in some way. If anyone can recommend someone in the West Midlands area that would be great. For now I might just protect it with Fabsil as after a bit of research it seems that's as good as most stuff out there?

I've ended up travelling down to London to help a mate out and stop the powers that be from crushing his car. It's already been clamped for lack of tax and they've paid to have it released but the clock is ticking before someone had to do something with it.
He's lost his mojo basically and it was taken to bits to fit an electric fuel pump instead of the mechanical one. I'm guessing he was running into fuelling issues ie lack of due to the stinking great snail that's been grafted on to the OM606.
You ought to hear the fucking thing when it's on boost, it sounds bloody awesome!

At least it starts and runs now so something can be done with it.

Found out a bit more. It turns out the original injector pump had run out of capacity so he bought a Dieselmeken one...
The new pump is setup to work with 3 bar of inlet pressure, hence the need for an electric pump to feed it. The new pump is bench set to provide 450bhps worth of fuel with an adequate turbo to push the air in there so performance should be adequate.
This is the same chap with the XUD powered ZX that pushes getting on for 3x standard power.

Sometimes yeah...

I did like my Discovery with 21psi of boost (standard is 12psi) massive intercooler, fuelling turned up & a straight pipe for turbo whistle in tunnels though. The upward facing exhaust that'd dump a cloud of black smoke in a chav's window as I beat them off the line was just a bonus

There is a great video I saw if some highly tuned Yank truck where the engine actually came out through the bonnet and landed on the track in front of it.

Knowing how structurally unsound the front chassis rails on these Mercs can be, I would give them a prod so.he doesn't replicate that video!
OMG U OK HUN?
