Re: Scruffy's Scrappers
He's fucked his ankle and had some gout set in so can't work at the mo, he's not having a very good time of things. I said I'd do a bit of research and see if I could take a stab at the value. Some twat offered him 500 quid for it a while back.

Re: Scruffy's Scrappers
In other news the MG is back again from the painters. Looking better this time but I didn't look too close as it would just annoy me. The old man's happy with it which is the main thing. It was warm yesterday but the oil pressure was showing a consistent 60psi or above. There's a definite misfire which needs investigating tho.
My mate has also taken the dash out and resprayed it in wrinkle paint. It's not totally the same finish as original but he's done a nice job of it and it looks loads better.

Re: Scruffy's Scrappers
I'm very tempted to get my MG painted. Problem is, my wife will want it a different colour. Actually don't want stock harvest gold, my faded harvest gold is a much softer colour.
I wish mine was 60psi! But then I've got 190psi compression on all four and pulls ok, so I shouldn't complain. Just wish it didn't sound so rattly and awful.

Re: Scruffy's Scrappers
My Grandad was in the REME so naturally he took care of it for many years of its life, I think it has 89K on it as Nan used it for work until she retired, considering the mileage it pulls really well, even with the current slight misfire.
Colour wise it's actually very close to before being painted, the number of times I've seen it parked outside in the 45 years I've known it I can count on one hand (until my old man got hold of it).
It really sounds like your wife really doesn't like it lol. I know it's a marmite colour but there are still many people that do like it and it's a colour from the age it was painted so I think it would be a shame to change it.

Re: Scruffy's Scrappers
In South Portugal at the mo. My old man just drove down in his 500 quid auction bought 307. It was absolutely packed, roof rack loaded, 2 bikes on the back (one electric) no evident arch gap when I saw it leave my house!
Plenty of old tat still about which is nice to see

Sadly the 505 owner wasn't around, I'd much prefer it to the 307 too. We bad a brand new one when I was a teenager, 6 of us and Wolfhound in the boot all seated comfortably, it was great. Enormous fun on a field sideways too!

Re: Scruffy's Scrappers
Only got chance to pop out to a builders merchants yesterday and look what rolled up right next to us! It'd had a recent respray by the looks of It, not the best but shiny and looked ok overall. I took a quick squiz inside and it had some tidy grey Recaros in it too. They really are comfy, I've got one for my pc chair at home.
I'm fond of these. A mate and I converted his to a Vectra Gsi 2.5 V6 with a 6 speed box, it was a hoot to drive.
