Re: 1966 Plymouth Fury 3
Very surprisingly it undid.
Had a little go with the wire wheel. Surprisingly, it's not as bad as I had expected. Pitted and thin in places, with a few holes no bigger than a screwdriver jab. Eminently repairable.
This is the trim I want to reinstate.

Nope, from what I can tell it's been a Mississippi car all its life.

Grind grind grind.
Added a little gloss paint to show up the dents. There's a couple ripples and a few dinks. Nothing that justified that much filler.

Those things are by no means cheap but I've got a couple of the green ones and they make removing paint from things like panels an absolute doddle and don't cause too much heat or take too much material off.

I use these strip it discs. Cheap and cheerful and bloody fantastic. One disc did a whole bonnet of the van.

I'll have to special order those if that's the case.
I was looking to get a bunch of polycarbide stripping discs, need to get them on order though.

That's a really good price on those, I've used that type in the past too. Just keep them away from any sort of edge as they evaporate very quicklydean36014 wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 1:51 pm I use these strip it discs. Cheap and cheerful and bloody fantastic. One disc did a whole bonnet of the van.
