The Hot Wob Time Machine
The Hot Wob Time Machine
Just imagine the possibilities - select the year, gently pull out the choke halfway, put the selector into drive and BOOM! Travel back in time to when old knackers roamed the highways.
Sadly all you can view are end of life knackers complete with “tax in post” stickers and feu orange air contaminators. If your really lucky you might even spot a shell suit jacket casually tossed on the back seat.
So I selected 30 years ago 1989... the Hot Wob Time Machine (TM) seems to be functioning nicely
In all seriousness this once proud Granada bloody made me smile. Any others out there?

What a superb looking car. The first owner would have felt like the king of the road, gliding around in that.

I hope that never gets restored....Peeling vinyl, faded rear lights, mis-aligned boot lid, giffer badges and scaffold-pole off-spec tailpipe. Just bloody glorious.....
There's a great long bar in Rock & Roll heaven.......

Id forgotten about the vinyl b-pillar and rear panel on Mk1 Ghias- that really was the ultimate in decadence .

Unlike most people I don't look at a Mk1 Granada and think of The Sweeney, I actually think of the randy drink drive love interest in Butterflies.

That is exactly how Granadas should look; slightly worn, but full of character. It is gorgeous.
Same rules apply for the Mk2, but for some reason in my mind not the Mk3.

Just goes to show how utterly utterly wrong car manufacturers these days have got things. That Granny is exactly what a big exec saloon car should look like. Just gorgeous!
It’s great to see stuff of that sort of age still running around looking like that though. Cars just don’t age the same (fucking cool!) way anymore.
They want to keep a very close eye on it these days though sadly.

My old mk2 was similar.
Well worn! Peeling lacquer, rusty bits, mismatched paint... but a brilliant car and looked the biz.

These Granadas were closer to BMW/Merc stuff than most realised. Looks like Jupiter red, a fine hue.
