My word that's amazing, what a small world. I knew the car had been around a bit with its 15 previous keepers. It must've fallen off the radar and it was only through this chance encounter I found it, as it was off the beaten track and I only spotted it because I was staying at a hotel. It looks a lot better in your photos mate, unfortunately it has gone to seed rather badly, but in the meantime I can slow the deterioration.

It wasn't as good as it looks in those pictures, it was quite a tatty old thing up close. Nonetheless, I'm delighted to see it still going and still with its registration too. Whereabouts did you come across it, if you don’t mind my asking?

Limpley Stoke.

I’ve had a look through the papers and I reckon Angry dickey is bang on regarding the reg. mark. What made me suppose it had been a victim of plate rape was the non-transferable status and the obvious new reproduction number plate. I bet it had a right nice design of plate originally.

The Coventry address is literally about half a mile from where I live. No trace of the company there now though.

There is a Standard appeared on ebay with a 500 quid start, it's a bit rough though. It might be good for parts with an overdrive box.
