On virtually all the NOS wiper blades I've bought the rubber has gone hard and has had to be replaced. It's been a matter of buying them just for the frames.

A lot depends on how they've been stored. Like you say rubber ages but the process can be slowed indefinitely.

From which supplier did you buy those new blades, Squire? The ones I have been getting are universally shit. Those headlamp earths can cause problems on Minors, too. I have put H4s on mine but they are the proper convex shape with the correct glass pattern but I am running an alternator with it....
There's a great long bar in Rock & Roll heaven.......

Can you get Bosch wipers that fit the older British wiper arms without the bent rod bit? I bought some Texstar ones for the MGB and they're for appearance use only. Useless as wipers.

What fitting are they. It will be either spoon fitting (used up to mid-1960's), or bayonet in 5.2mm or 7mm size (1960's to present).

After a fair bit of Googling, I think it's Bayonet. I know the last set of Bosch blades I bought, there was no suitable adapter in the box.

Bayonet rings a bell with me, I can't check though as I haven't seen it for 18 months now and my spare blades are in a box in the boot.

11 inch - Lucas LWCB11 / Trico EF280
13 inch - Lucas LWCB13 / Trico EF330
The Trico states that it comes with an adapter to fit 7mm Bayonet. Lucas doesn't state it but I've seen that series to fit Triumph 2500, Land Rover 90/110 and other similar vintage cars with Lucas wiper systems.
Both designs are modern style cantilever frames, rather than the Tex blades that try to replicate the original style. Hopefully a bit better technology in the rubber blades themselves and actually work.
I've bought one Trico and one Lucas to see how well they fit.
There is also the Bosch SP13 but I can't find any reference to them having a full set of adapters anymore. Only the quikclip that I think is only for hook style arms.
I'd like originality to the style of wiper blades but I prefer being able to see where I am going in the rain. Especially if I'm going to pull the BGT out this winter and give it some use.
