Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

I scored very low on the autie test. I’m cheerful, happy, confident, like meeting new people, chatty and largely sociable. What the fuck am I doing on this forum?

It made the already heavy steering ridiculous. When I had mine I changed the radials for Barum crossplys, it was like night and day. Much better on the Barums. I’d have loved to try one on quality crossplys. I enjoyed both of the P4s I owned.
OK cheers. Makes sense, my Farina was nicer on the rock-hard crossplies although it drifted a bit on dual-carriageways.....
That might not be the only reason, just my observation. Also whatever tyres were on, understeer, loads and loads of understeer.

7 pages in and I see no query regarding the last one to have a manual choke fitted.
My 1989 240DL does - and keep fit windows.

By contrast, in 1989 all BMWs were fuel injected.

Reliants again had manual chokes up till around 2002. My 1991 metro gta had a manual choke too.

Chokes and carbs pretty much away with catalytic converters - pretty much mandated in 1993ish. Reliant got through I imagine on low volume exemptions of the time?

No, they got through on not being a 'car' - they're a fucking tricycle (on in UNECE/EU vehicle category terms an L5e)

I had radials on both my P4s. Better behavior than the crossplies, even the cheap taxi ones I used, but they make the cars horrible to park, heavier than some unassisted lorries and much worse than my remarkably light to steer Seddon. Radials seem to affect some old motors more than others- my Sunbeam had the same brand and size of tyre but it was OK.

I do fancy a P4 sometime. Do wonder if it's something I'd find boring quite quickly though.

We went to Switzerland, Germany, Southern Spain in our first P4 & didn't get bored once. My one issue is that steering and the alloy doors skins get a right battering in supermarket car parks.
Just thought of one other thing..
