I started my business from the back of a K reg 1.8i cavalier hatch in that greeny blue they did. I gave £350 to a mate for it with a full mot as I didn't want to ruin my saxo vts. My local bar owner lent me the money to buy my first van about three months later.

I noticed yesterday when checking the plenum drains on the 75 that both top mount rubbers had split.

Not ideal.

I had the choice of NOS 'seconds' from DMGRS or brand new ones frkm ebay for £50 for the pair. Once again I have upset the Rover anoraks by not buying genuine.

"They'll only last a few years".

Will I have the car in a few years?

No.

Parts came today.

No guarantee the NOS ones from a decade ago are going to last any better at this point, depending on how they've been stored.

I no longer really associate with the Dolly owners club as they are, by and large, a bunch of miserable buggers.

The Acclaim bods are alright as they are mostly well aware of their car's underrated status but don't constantly moan about how they should really be as valuable as Mk2 Escorts by now.

Especially I guess if the NOS ones are seconds for non cosmetic reasons.

Aye it was "Thankyou no" from me.

There's a lot of miserable cunts in the 75 pages who wax lyrical about all manner of stuff that's not to their liking. Thankfully there's enough of us who just have 75s as runners and live in the real world to compensate.

I was half thinking of moving the Cavalier on but there's a guy from West Lothian has a You Tube channel filled with Cavalier content and tonight's episode has piqued my interest in it again. I need to replace the electric aerial and reseal the tail lights so that's spurred me in to get that done.

I couldn't say no to this. It was very local and very very cheap. I collect it on Tuesday.

MOT is May so I'm just planning on driving it before deciding whether I keep this or the Cav.

I collected my Saab from SRi05 tonight.

It drives lovely. The Mrs is keen on having it but I know it will be too heavy on fuel for her mileage so she will be continuing to use the diesel Civic and can have a go of the Saab when she wants (I pay for everything car related in the household right down to fuel)
