Fingers crossed.
They look to be flat sheet steel crudely hammered into place...

It shouldn't be too hard to sort and I have found a pair of floors in Italy. It looks like the cruciform center section has been replaced already but brazed on. The reinforcement sections down each side need replacing before ripping the riveted floors out and putting new floors in. Not much filler in the body panels which is good and it all looks pretty straight.

Spent a little time on the Fiat whilst the Dodge was being welded. It seems the seller was full of shit as he said it had bugger all compression and wanted and engine rebuild. First up the starter was very slow, cleaning the brushes has got it better but still needs a new one. The earth wasn't fitted correctly to the engine so that didn't help then it had no spark at the points. Again just wanted cleaning and now it should be ready to start once I get another starter as it packed in again just as I had it all ready to fire. I did manage to compression test it though and over 100psi in all 4 so should be good enough to start. The bodge repairs really are shit though. The floor crossmembers have been pop riveted back in after the rubbish thin galvanised sheet floor was riveted in. The bit on the floor I pulled off with pliers. New floors and 2 metres of u section channel have been ordered so hopefully start sticking it back together in the next couple of weeks.

Are pop rivets “ test acceptable” in whichever state that came from, or was it “ test free”?

Did the seller do it, which bodes badly for the ne t one, or do you think he bought it like that?

Starters don’t last long on those 850’s, and the water pump & rad will need refurb/ recore- ing. Pumps come in 3 or 4 bolt fixings- they aren’t 8nterchangeable so check yours first. If you can’t get one, there’s a “ specialist” in Birmingham that can refurb, at a sensible price, but he’s damn slow

Loved m8ne, but I’m way too big for it now. Happy days

The "repairs" have been done sometime so not the sellers bodging, but I am disappointed he didn't mention them as they are pretty bloody obvious. The old title is from Virginia with the previous owner buying it in 2012 so I expect that is who did the bodging. The rad appears to be a recon but was held in with one self tapping screw so needs looking at in case it is the wrong rad. Fingers crossed the Buick isn't as bad as he did mention a small area of rust on it which I expect means there will be no floors and half the chassis missing. It should be here next week so fingers crossed.

The Buick should be in the UK now and unloaded on Monday if things go to plan. I also might be doing another stupid purchase which will involve a bit of a road trip.

Yeap phase 1 V6 turbo even though it has GTX badges. I had one in the mid 90's and have been after another for years but it had to be a phase 1 and either silver or this green. I have a pair of brand new right hand drive headlights that I have kept for the last 20 odd years waiting to find the right car to fit them to. Just need to find out what hoops I have to jump through to go over and get it.
Oh and the seller also has this.
