Ironically, if I split the manifold on my inline 8 and fit unequal length 4-1 tubes and join them up it'll sound like any other V8. (Which is what the po' rodders did back in the day).

Also, people have this odd misconception that American cars are loud. By default most are almost Rolls-Royce quiet, it's only aftermarket systems that are rowdy.

I had (still have but lost touch a bit) a mate who to my knowledge has run Yanks since the 1970s. He hates noisy cars and says that's what drew him most to his impressive CV of Detroit's ( and Kenosha's) finest.

Remember this......?

Though, that is one of the more tasteful ones I've seen that have roots in the early billet years

It's so interesting the paradox. I don't expect to ever be able to afford a £39K car of any kind - but if I did have that to spend on a Chevy I'd spend it on putting mine back to stock or on a nice original/resto example.

OK Wob hive mind.

I have to accept I am never going to be able to restore this car or pay anyone else to do it.

Where's the best place to sell partly dismantled part bodged projects of this kind?

My immediate thought would be the various forums or clubs....Tri-Chevy Forum has a few British members. Mr Impala has some great contacts too....

I have put it on Rods n Sods asking 5k - no idea if that’s OK or outrageous but you have to put a price on. Ex says she thinks (with all her expert car knowledge lol) it’s worth £12k which it definitely isn’t. I am going to talk to Evoke classics next week to see if I can auction it on there.
