In other related ADO16 news, the old purple 1100 is still about. Featured near the end of this video made by the guy I sold it to:

Engine in it has been sold apparently. He has a fuel injected Mini to go in it...

After a year spent welding the damn thing up, it's probably one of the stiffest ado16 out there nowadays!

I know I'm bloody odd but I quite like Magentas. They didn't try to be a beach buggy or pseudo-Vintage crap, just a plastic fun car. The bloke that did my Cowley welding has a nice one but so far has resisted my attempts to buy it. Probably just as well, there seems fairly good odds that I might die in it....

Safer in a smash than an Invacar though I guess and it's got the right number of wheels as well.

The Ranger was my fave at the time, although to be fair I was about 6 when they arrived. Seemed a good use for a fucked 1100.

I like that you even use the original seats in the Ranger. You know, those really rain-resistant seats. Presumably all-weather gear was available judging by the studs around the body?

It never rained in the Seventies, though.
