Stroppy Old Tart, or the story of a Triumph Bonneville

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

I've now got achey fingers & a kitchen that has the lovely smell of autosol, but it's resulted in some more clean bits. All that's left now is to wash them to get the remains of the autosol & degreaser out of the insides, then I can start assembly.

You can see the state some bits were in from the intake manifolds.

Well no real progress but the V5 came from the DVLA & she's now registered as historic & MOT exempt. However they've randomly changed her colour to blue, rather odd as all the old V5s show black & as far as I'm aware it's been black for 20 years now.

Let's send it off again & see what they change next shall we?

Surely it's because black is classed as racist?

I scored very low on the autie test. I’m cheerful, happy, confident, like meeting new people, chatty and largely sociable. What the fuck am I doing on this forum?

I just realized that's not correct. Those are unifolds. There's only one pipe going through from one to one.

Maybe solofold. Or just a fold.

I've opened the box of bits, but as I can't wake up today I'm not going to try and put them together.

I'm tempted to polish the rocker boxes etc before assembly though. I'll obviously be polishing the rods as it works to reduce stress failures.

Hopefully it's better quality than the stuff that came in the cardboard box in the background.

I never got the stuff in that box. It turned up in the boot of my old blue Jag from Richardthestag with a few spares n stuff in.
