How to buy a car in the lockdown.Take two. Bentley Turbo R

Post by panhard65 »

Ok as I said in a few other posts I have sold my Thunderturd and have been eying up Bentley's. Well today I shamelessly drove 8 miles to look at a 1989 Turbo R. It really does look good with 4 owners and full service history. but has no mot and the seller said the brakes feel a bit soft. I suspect he isn't used to the brakes on these things as they feel right to me. Any way I bought it for 5 grand and will pick up next week with a bit of luck. I might have to get the pushbike out to collect it though which won't be much fun as I haven't ridden one in years.

It really does look good, originally supplied to the Sultan of Pahang. Always garaged and has the correct michellin tyres, along with 2 more new old stock tyres. Everything appears to work including the air con and the outside air temperature gauge. It's just a shame I can't drive it yet.

That comes across wrong I think, I really am jealous but cautious... too cautious probably but twice bitten three times shy if you know what I mean. But put me at the top of the list to buy it when you move it on.

It is a fine looking thing, no doubt about it. You may have stumbled over a bit of a bargain there.
