The 406 2.1 I had barely managed 38mpg on a steady run but oddly local driving didn't lower it too much. Had to stir gears more on it than the 1.9 and it really didn't like hills.

I had it off of foad. was swapped for the 340 variomatic. Car was great in glx trim pre facelift but the engine was just shite
