OMG GGG TNT - Only for The Climate™ Improvement®

In this thread we will show you our random trips (TNT - Totally Nonsensical Tour) which aren't motivated by any specific reason whatsoever. They usually happen rather ad hoc just for the heck of enjoying our half arsed parts cars and sometimes don't even have a particular destination. Even if we have the latter, it's often not being reached due to getting lost and/or having to nurse a wounded motorised conveyance homeward on the shortest route, or being daft or otherwise inept in general. You get the drift.

This BH Monday, we set off for the North Pennines and made it as far as Penrith, before resorting to the M6.

The first landmark of note was this signpost:

This is someone's garden:

Another signpost:

There was a farm:

There was not much else:

A house:

Sheep doing their thing:

Another farm:

We crossed a bridge:

A tractor guarded by a sheep:

A viaduct:

A bridge we didn't cross:

Suddenly it was 1999.

There were tracks:

And a station:

We followed the tracks for a while.

We reached another bridge:

We reached a castle.

Image

It's a bit ramshackle even for British standards:

Its owner must have fallen on hard times:

Then there were holes in the ground. No idea what for, but there were many.

Image

It's not that crowded out there.

Then there was a stone circle we had no idea what for:

Image

It has an inscription saying:
in this circle of land’s bones moments gather into wood
Yeah, same here.

Meanwhile I found out that it's part of the dumbfucktest artsy fartsy ripoff the world has ever paid for: https://www.commonground.org.uk/treefolds/

Talk about collective stranglewanking and lentils.

But I took some artsy fartsy photos, too:

No charge, mind.

Somebody forgot his tank.

We had a cuppa on the way home.

Image

Inside they had a book charity going on and I took this with me:

It's from 1965:

This is all they say about Stockport:

And thus, my fellow cunts, ends this TNT.

It was owned by someone who took part in splattering an arsebishop of Cunterbury's brain on the floor a bit.

The North.

Like the South, but cheap, attractive, uncrowded and not shit. Why anyone would live in a cesspit like London is beyond me. Drive 20 miles in any direction from Sheffield centre and you have hills and fields and scenery and country pubs and sheep.
20 miles from Saint Johns Wood and you have something like a scene from Escape from New York, a dirty, lawless shithole. Croydon, Borehamwood, Dagenham or Slough for example.

This is how fucking deluded they are down there:

We spent a week in Lancaster last year and drove around the Trough of Bowland, apparently that was where TVR used to test their cars in the Peter Wheeler years if not at othertimes .
Just as nice if not nicer than the Lake District but without the hordes of tourists.
