I do miss driving to places like this sometimes. All the bits of this country that look like that are very far away.

Possibly the climate may be improved by driving at 12MPG in a car that was designed to visit these places.

Not only is that water good for making tea, it is most excellent to shave with.

I improved the climate of Dorset this weekend by driving to Dorchester and Lyme Regis, and then into Devon for Seaton and Beer Village. very warm, so beer, ice cream and beans Toast were required.

Dorset is the acceptable face of England's South Side.

It's less likely to improve the climate over there. This must be true or there'd be no justification for the differing levels of tax.

Funny, my Challenger had "gas guzzler" tax on it- despite averaging UK 25mpg+ quite easily

My Chieftain can manage about 18 UK MPG on a gentle run yet doesn't qualify.

Go figure

25+ MPG?

I should get one as an economic car alongside the XJR

On Saturday we resisted the lure of hills and countryside and took a short trip to what appeared to be Britain's dullest secondhand car dealership.

First impressions can be deceptive though, as at the back of the dealership lay this Toyopet (no mere Toyota nonsense here) Corona.

It was OK.

It has an engine...

But none of that matters when you see the glitter tinted rear windscreen.

Inspections were carried out and the car declared good. Any rust was merely surface, mechanically nothing appeared greatly amiss.

Unfortunately, though, negotiations to buy the car stalled at the point we were told it wasn't for sale. So we had to leave it behind...
