It was a great tour, I particularly enjoyed that immaculate train station which appeared out of nowhere, and the trees in a brick circle with strange words carved into them.

I got a bit car sick in the last quarter. I don't know if I can blame the Peugeot for that since I was also carsick on Tuesday night and Wednesday, despite not being in a car.

The stations on the Settle and Carlisle are maintained by a volunteer group, the Friends of the Settle-Carlisle Railway, hence their tidiness. Said volunteer group also offer a trolley service on trains on that part of the line, something Northern Rail don't offer anywhere.

Yesterday we went abroad dragon slaying.
However, it appears they have automated the process lately.




We saw a ghost sign in a ghost town.




The shop was still as stocked as it was when the town was abandoned.




Since there was nobody left to serve us lunch, we proceeded to greener pastures.




This desirable domicile was for sale the last time I was there.





We took a break.




There was water.



We drank some and took some home to make tea with it. It was fantastic.

The living standards there aren't quite as they are here.




There were sheep.




We were going uphill.




We stopped at a rock with something written on it we can't read.






There was a view.




We arrived at a car park and parked in the last available spot.




There was a sign we could read.




And one we couldn't.




The R16 did a good job at levelling the surface irregularities in the car park.

We arrived at a reservoir that has the shape of Italy.




Somebody has a moist cellar.

They had built a dam there.




Consequently we went onto it.




I photographed the view from it.




Of course we looked inside those things there.



We were disappointed.




The locks are not very burglary deterrent.




The structure as such is not very confidence inspiring.




One can look down the other side.








There wasn't a lot of love.




This is the other side of the dam.



We then drove across it and on the other side there was some information Conrad found interesting.




We don't know why this mail box was there. There wasn't anything else.

There was beef. Not served, mind. I like beef, so I photographed it.
