So I took all the seats and carpets out of this the other day to reveal a world of bodges. Rags and other things shoved into holes and wobbed over. Rear floorplans have large patches screwed into place as do various other areas

I have the non matching seats a good clean as I do like cleaning stuff! One of these will be a temporary replacement for the Pennant drivers seat while I fix mine

So while messing with it, I noticed a sticker that I hadn't seen before...

Through a little bit of internet sleuthing it seems that this car was once owned by James Hull who sold his collection to Jaguar Land Rover who took a look at this and thought "what is this heap of shit?" And sold it off at another auction in 2018

I've put some pictures up on the Standard forum and apparently it is an incredibly rare variant as it is an early one with the single rear door. Ironically, that do it is the best part of ut, the rest is fucked.

It came with a spare engine that just put into a shed. It has a PINK spark plug!

In a way, but it is quite an interesting car. It was some eccentric old chaps runabout until 1986 when it came off the road. The level of bodgery is amazing, it belongs in a museum! The carpets for instance, were soaked in old engine oil with another few carpets on top to protect the passengers if there were any! It would have been scrapped years ago were it not for the 'skills ' of the previous owner.
