Most pointless toolbox bargain.

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Most pointless toolbox bargain.

Post by Bangernomics »

I seem to be cursed with a bad habit of buying shit that I seldom or never use. Most annoying one was a honing tool that I bought which is still a pain in the toolbox drawers to use on a budget rebuild of a manta 2.0 engine as it was smoking its tits off. It never left the packet as I wrapped it around a fence post sideways around a nice sharp bend. Skills.
Just when I thought I was out they dragged me back in.

I got a honing tool for fitting new rings on a smokey LR, I even used it on the same car. It didn't cure the smoking as it'd got a scored bore, but it improved stuff enough to sell the thing.

I used to use a honing tool regularly just to break the glaze everytime I was rebuilding something, 2 stroke bikes especially as I was doing a couple a week at one point.

My most pointless ones are the table saw and various others still stacked in their boxes three years later. I got them to build the kitchen etc in the cottage but that never happened, I kept the tools I'd paid for though.

Where are you?

I've got 2 which is really more than i need, one is probably only going to be good for insulation boards etc as I think there is a dead spot on the com.

I've got a 5.5 hp petrol one up for grabs. Won't go in your tool box but it's pointless (electronic ign.)
