OLLI help required - Disco 1

Post by captain_cal »

Evening, does anyone have any knowledge on what relays are what on a 300 shape Disco 1?

I've got an unbelievably non-rotten 3.9 petrol here with immobiliser issues, have a brand new fob ready to code in so that should sort that - however my associate has ham-fistedly been pulling out the relays in the footwell to try and solve (?) the issue, and now he doesn't know where any of them go back in!

I think he's just been attacking the passenger side footwell - I know there are relays on both sides but I think the driver's side ones are undisturbed. Anyone got any ideas? Ask on an OLLI forum and they are all just yanks telling you to download the million gigabyte RAVE workshop manual to look for yourself instead of actually offering any helpful input.

Cheers

JohnF might know, I don't think I ever had anything electronically when I had a D1.

I've only played with diesel Disco 1s, and have never needed to unplug any relays in the footwells.

But I do have a copy of RAVE, so here's what I could find for you:

Ah no, if it's in the passenger footwell it'll be the alarm / immobiliser ECU and relays. There isn't a picture of their location in RAVE, you'll probably have to trawl through the LR forums looking for an annotated picture.

Sorry I can't help.

I've got a 300tdi D1 in the shed which I could have a look at next weekend. Not sure if it will be the same as the 3.9 though.

Thank you all - I've just remembered that I also have a 300tdi Disco lurking in a different shed.

Will check that one first!

almost certainly the same as 1990 Range Rover. I have all the diagrams for those :D

Immobiliser being the factory job? gubbins should be on drivers side bolted to the steering column support

if you have the oval single button key fob and it doesn't work, and the immobiliser has armed ...

check out these chaps - https://remotekey.co.uk/range-rover/eme ... tart-plug/
