Re: Found pics
Sorry mate but that time has gone and unfortunately it ain't coming back. I was discussing this with my other half today and we agreed it will be shit to be a kid growing up in this world now. Motoring is pretty much fucked now, there is no fun in it and with all the new restrictions put on everyone each year it will only get worse. (This was happening even before the plague) I think all we can do is reminisce about the good times we had as those times have gone. What the fuck do we have to look forward to now ?mercrocker wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2020 8:23 pm I know. I can't go back to the Fifties. But can somebody at least put the world back like this?

Re: Found pics
You're right, but at least before the Hong Kong flueey we had outlets to continue our lives in the past - authentic rock and roll weekends, gatherings of like-minded folk in seaside resorts, pubs and holiday camps that reflected the age that we try and continue living at home....
Motoring can still be fun but it is harder work to achieve. I did a 50 mile round trip in the Cowley today visiting a couple of antique places that could have been reached in 8 miles on the motorway but instead we went through villages and back roads in the October sunshine without seeing more than half a dozen cars. We used to do the same coming back from Norfolk and Devon when we did the coastal weekenders there - just get an AA handbook and jump from village to village heading in the approximately correct general direction. OK, it took 9 hours home instead of 3.5 but I still remember those runs with fondness.....

Re: Found pics
Both my sons, mid/late 20s, have never shown the slightest interest in cars, just the same as their mates.panhard65 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2020 8:31 pmSorry mate but that time has gone and unfortunately it ain't coming back. They're a tool to get from A to B. Their interests are mainly things like video games and both seem pretty happy with that. They totally fail to understand why I want to get my MGB back on the road but accept it as one of Dad's many eccentricities.
