I quite like them but then again I like most of the cars of that era like the Daytona etc. whereas the mid 80s/90s onwards ones leave me cold. I guess that it's an age thing as I much prefer a Boxer to a Testarossa, not that I'll ever have either.

I'd sooner have a Bristol or an earlier Jensen. Not that 10mpg is something I could entertain for long these days in any combination of angularity or curves.....

Couple of spots today out and about round the New Forest, post-war Austin Ten in New Milton unfortunately on a monkey numberplate but with immaculately turned out period-looking gent at the wheel. Also a nice Giulia-type Alfa GTV in Lyndhurst in the obligatory Rosso.

Finally as I got back to the Focus (letting the side down today but it had the most fuel in it...!) a middle-aged couple returned to their K-reg Sierra in the carpark. Apparently they brought it back from Cyprus with them - chap was worried about all the talk of emissions and ethanol etc. Told him to keep filling it with Esso Supreme and just drive the bloody thing. All this old stuff will still see us out.......

After inducements, 30 eurobags. About the same price here as a Honda E.

A rather surreal one today.....Had a barber appointment this morning, quite early (well for a fella that does fuck all it was early...) Had to defrost the Chrysler - the heater is shit, helpfully on a Winter crapper - and was a bit later than I would have liked. Actually, I was on time but to me that's late.

Anyway, I get to the dual carriageway on the hill before the next town where the barber shop is and normally I get a good clear fast run up it but today there was a little clusterfuck of sundry crud getting in each other's way overtaking something. There's a crem halfway up the hill so I thought it might be somebody's last ride holding up procedures....

Nope! It was some fucking hero using a 1940s Dodge Beep to carry a load of (secondhand) fencing posts from God knows where to God knows where else. It was a canvas topper, too and the bloke looked a fair bit parky. The thing sounded flat out at 40mph up the hill and I swear I could see the fuel gauge swing as I passed. Fair play, though, it was a cracking sight.

Somebody braved the salt, damp and Sunday wankers along the A272 this afternoon in a Mk1 Aeroflow Cortina Super Estate with the Di-Noc artificial wood trim.

I scored very low on the autie test. I’m cheerful, happy, confident, like meeting new people, chatty and largely sociable. What the fuck am I doing on this forum?

Hope it was blue like the Corgi toy I had when I was a kid.

It was blue, but lighter than that! I think they called it Fjord Blue whereas the Corgi is more yer Ambassador Blue. Also it was the (even) rarer Aeroflow facelifted Mk1. They lasted less than a year with that combination of airflow and wood - you only got chrome strips on the Super then.
No golfers that I could see, either....
