It will be the pump as it does mess around if you thrash it and puts a fuel pressure fault in. The previous owner changed the pressure regulator and I have done the injectors and all the fuel lines so the only part that hasn't been changed is the high pressure pump. I will put my code reader on it tomorrow and see if it has logged any new codes. The tick over will hunt every now and again as well and no one could come up with a logical reason for it. Bloody truck is a pain in the arse but at times it comes in handy. At least it is a legit business expense so I can claim back the silly amounts of money I keep spending on it.

As long as it doesn't take the injectors out when it starts to break down internally! I remember that was the 1.5dci party trick.

The 1.5 is very fragile these bigger engines have slightly more resilient injectors. Bloody modern diesels !!

I was looking at how the diesel injection system works on the mid 90s 7.0 power stroke engine. Fuck me somebody was on drugs taking a simple mechanical system and turning it into that computer and engine oil pressure controlled piece of shit!

Not the thinning of the herd I was thinking of, but it's the most viable option right now.

Does mean the Pontiac becomes my everyday car, though.

Decided to replace the dodgy exhaust bungee on the 206cc the tester flagged up.

Unfortunately the ones I bought weren't big enough so I sacked that off and decided to fix the Matiz exhaust bungee. This had rotted off the exhaust and was on the MoT advisory. The obvious way was to weld the peg back onto the exhaust. Well, with a rusty peg and even rustier exhaust that was going to end in grief. So I removed the peg, welded it to a clamp and hey presto. Might be more structurally useful if I'd got the angles correct but fuck it. Dog to walk and a real ale festival just up the road. Priorities!

Went out to a local town for aclassic and American car meet up, but seems it got called off.
In the square around which the meet was to take place was an odd dance/acrobatic/circus skills show. Not my cup of tea, but they did have an interesting truck there as a prop
